This letter is in regards to Dr. Fernand. To anyone who is looking, I feel Dr. Fernand is the ideal surgeon for your animal. If you are like me and my family, we fell our dog Maggie is an integral part of it. Yes, a family member. As such, when she suffered a torn ACL and MCL I was truly fortunate to have Dr. Fernand as her vet. He cancelled his day off, arranged to have an assistant come in before the hospital opened, and performed the surgery so Maggie didn't have to suffer. One would think that would be enough for a surgeon to be great. But that is not half of what he brings to the table.
He proceeded to check in daily with Maggie and once her stitches were removed he slowly began massaging and rehabbing her slowly back to health.
Finally, once Maggie was fully healed (approx 2 months) he stopped by twice to three times per week to work her out and put her through strenuous exercise to build back up the muscles and her leg. Today she is fully healed and runs around the pool like never before. Most importantly, when she sees Dr. Fernand it's as if she sees the person who fixed her and healed her and Maggie's reaction to him is priceless. It is a true love affair and she and our family wouldn't have it any other way. We are forever greatful for his compassion and skill. Jon S. Miami Beach, FL
If I could write a testimonial for Dr. Fernand everyday I would. In April 2013 we rescued Ellie, an Australian Cattle Dog, with a broken leg. As stoic as our baby was she was in desperate need of surgery. We only had her a couple of days and off she went for a complicated, reconstructive procedure.
Dr. Fernand had to put a plate and several pins in her leg. He also discovered during the surgery she had atrophy and a large amount of scar tissue due to the amount time she lived with the injury. He spent a lot of time with her in surgery that day and a lot of time with us afterwards. He took the time to explain in detail everything he did and was honest with us about all aspects and possible outcomes. We could tell that he had invested more than just time operating on her. He actually cared about her and made sure we brought her back the next day for further observation. He stayed in touch with us along the way for updates on her progress. A few months after Ellie had recovered she re-injured her leg. We discovered Dr. Fernand had moved out of our area, but it didn't matter to us. I would have driven to Texas to find him. He took us in immediately and took care of her again. Since then Ellie can run on her own and be the dog she was meant to be. Happy and free!!
I would not only recommend him, I would insist you allow him to take care of your pet. After all, our animals depend on us to care for them the best way possible and he is it!!! We are forever grateful and so is Ellie.

Dr. Fernand,
Words are inadequate to express my family's gratitude and gratefulness for the kindness, sympathy and skill you displayed in saving our dog Jody from dying. God guided us to your door when our female shepherd started hemorrhaging after her botched surgery by an incompetent vet. From the first moment we met, your confidence, compassion and concern towards our bleeding, dying shepherd displaced the fear that consumed us. We will be eternally indebted to you for saving our beloved pet. Forever Grateful, Alex D. – Miami Beach, FL
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Fernand---he’s clearly one of the best. He did a fantastic job surgically repairing a birth defect on the front
leg of our young Bassett Hound, Max. This included extensive post-operative follow-up sessions over a two month period. Today Max runs and jumps just like any other Bassett thanks to Dr. Fernand’s professional skills and thorough follow up. Tim M. - Miami, FL
